Paperless
Giving all my thoughts and ideas
To you
And it wasn’t even a minute later
When the back porch
Swung open and the wind carried them away
To be said to others that might not care
We sit at the table, aged with children’s hands
And discuss possibilities of snow for the winter
Conversation
Bluntly boring
And the teapot shouts a tune so familiar
That we did not even notice
The TV blaring incoherently at the cat
Frightens the plants
And you ask
Are the bills all paid?
I have know idea,
So I sit in silence
guessing what you are thinking.
I don’t know

The sad lack of communication between an old married couple.  Strange how this boring scene is so delicately and beautifully captured in intimate detail by your pen (or rather your fingers on the keys).  With a name like that, I imagine you are French?  I have a particular reason for asking.

oft times while eating out, I scan my surroundings, and notice older couples, eating together, but sharing not one word between the two of them...are they sad, I ponder?  Or are they just so comfortable to be in there own thoughts together?

good ponderings here...well done

Thanks for the explanation.  There is a poem I thought you may know, very different to yours, but with the same ambiance.
