With my darkling

Today I wake to nothing new
A jest I think, to think I grew
I sleep at night, to wake to change
and wake each day to feel no change

Today I thought of nothing new
to change the way I walk it through
and still I'll go to sleep tonight
and pray for ways to make it right

Today will bring things nothing new
routine sets in, we wake on cue
a pill, a drink, maybe a few
will fix things now, but won't fix you

Today I wish I lived today
and loved the things I had today
thought nothing more than what I have
it's  more than you could ever give
