Fragile wildflowers,
trampled,
from seedling's start.
Souls with leaking hearts
that cling tenaciously
to unforgiving rocks,
surrounded by wastelands
of political tomfoolery and
acres of empty promises
growing like rampant noxious weeds,
while tender wildflowers struggle for survival
in an environmentally challenged
Darwinian world.

Not much hope there to share
for the future evolutionary progress
of the species known as man-kind.

Yet every now and then
a gentle hand reaches out
and plucks a heartbeat,
treats the trampled treasures
with kindness, neighborly love.
And the struggling seedlings
taste just enough refreshing dew
to hang in there another day,
thanks to the heartbeat of compassion
sent from me and you.

i would like to think
that Whitman speaks
in dreams

seems his pen
works your fingers,
his cries for Mother

i hear his pleas
through your lips

along with Kerouac and Ginsberg
riding
the naked city subways
burgeoning with waste

their eyes
wide open
to the
blind
and greedy

i read of Vincent
and he wants to paint
your portrait

mind you
it may be
abstract

but that would be quite fine
i think

with you

seeing as this world

is nothing

but

Ok, now that this is a conversation, I have to say I am reading about Vincent, and our local river rat (grin) told me about you and Vincent, so odd that I just picked up this book . . . its amazing.

"Tormented Genius"

I got an easel for Christmas.  So now I have to learn and Kacy?

May all of us always be wildflowers, I loved this.

Wonderful, compassionate write, dear Kacy!

Wildflowers are very strong, thanks to God!

You spread hope, it grows on grounds of dispair ... like wildflowers breaking through rocks.

Love,
Margherita

"Auguries of Innocence"

To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour."
(William Blake)

Augurie (augury) In Blake's, and your words-
I see the warning...pay attention-innocence,
Is not ignorance....purity is logical-listen:
In your hand, is held the flower
That precludes the fruits of infinity.

Kacy:
It is your hand that holds the reason to hope..
It is your pen that nurtures hopes flower and root...

"...every now and then
a gentle hand reaches out
and plucks a heartbeat,
treats the trampled treasures
with kindness, neighborly love.
And the struggling seedlings
taste just enough refreshing dew
to hang in there another day..."

Gads! this place makes me high
Such deep thoughts, and such deep,
Thought out replies...
I come here to be nourished,
For if I was to sup only
On the things around me,
I would mentally starve...

Thanks for breakfast, Kacy
