Walking into any gas station in Florida
On your day off
Always smells like you are going
On a road trip
The musty odor of a new place
The damp air surrounding your body
As if the morning just began
People dazed with plans of work ahead
Silently yell for sleep as they pay
Their tabs
Grumpy, the attendant mutters in tongues
Under his breath
Thinking he was supposed to be
In another place by now
at this age
His cigarette half snuffed out,
In the cut up tin can, struggles to say alive
While I search for snack
Finding nothing
I walk, sucking up the sensation
Guess I am going to go home now

I love your cinematographical approach.  Lovely poem.
