Perfection Lost

In the mourning hour,
when the mist begins its lift
a lonely flower with perfection lost
awaits the smile, a gift

Of eyes that ponder to read between,
to feel the warmth inside.
In the mourning hour, a rose
still stands with pride.

Life's a game of give and take
with petals that fall beyond,
letting go of yesteryear
with silence as its bond.

By afternoon she drinks it in,
the rose in need to fill.
By evening's dark she hides the moist
of tears in lonely spill.

The space between where soft once dwelled
where loving knows the feel,
where emptiness wants left behind
to be tomorrow's real.

nakdthoughts,

  Wonderful analogies so poetically written!
Mind if I keep this?

(especially fond of the last part:

"The space between where soft once dwelled
   where loving knows the feel,
   where emptiness wants left behind
   to be tomorrow's real"

Wishing you a vibrant new year.
