Fathoms deep beneath the sea of all there is to feel
before the rising up again into this way of life
that keeps a body floating and drifting with the flow
away from the shimmer of love’s great birthing time.

It was there in the depths that I held a little child
and gave from my heart the food to make it grow
before it shot unaided up to surface expectations
and bobbed like a cork on the highs and lows.

The high was love inside that never questioned why
and low the slow infusion of life’s artful ways
through the muscle and the bone of pure innocence
until the feeling part dead as a coffin nail.

Dead, dead, the heart is dead when broken by the times
and washed up to the shore in pieces here and there
and the human race confined to half they’re meant to be
walks the earth like robots programmed not to care.

Then come the birth on land of another little child
and not a ‘yes’ but ‘why’ bobs on the living tide.

Helen?

what insight you possess . . .

Dead, dead, the heart is dead when broken by the times
and washed up to the shore in pieces here and there
and the human race confined to half they’re meant to be
walks the earth like robots programmed not to care.

and yet you see the light . . .

Seven little children
Be born of one
To carry her home
Into the sun.

Enjoyed your thought provoking write, Helen.  Happy New Year to you, dear friend.   ....jo

Thanks, Jo, and "happy happies" to you too!  I guess we'd be surprised at just how many carry us home.

Thank you, my friend.  Today is our last day of 2005.  I have a long list for 2006 to attend to so I've decided to start happy in order to end happy.  Cheers!

You care, and I do too....and I know there are others...maybe we should hold hands and dance?  Happy New Year!
