In a heart of brittle parchment rolled and tossed aside
footsteps of another kind tiptoe around desire
too scared to awaken the giant of human need
lest he put asunder the raging fires of denial.

And burning bright and fearsome in remote solitude
these fires grow and procreate a don’t-care attitude
that coarsens the fine contours of a soul’s other face
and leaves the good and true locked in disquietude.

Time is but a myth because it doesn’t stretch and bend
while waiting for a heart to unravel to the end
or for the hand of love to travel uninvited
to save and rescue depots for dispirited men.

One time, 1time - our new airline, offers special fares
to go, come back again, like a boomerang in air
but it stops at the nourishing and the filling up
of seat-belted people offered up into its care.

Time is like that airline - only so far will it go
to assist in the awakening of what we have to know
before the dive and disappear into nothingness
like love on this eve of another ”cheerio”.

A month, a year, or sooner than I will disappear;
will you remember when I longed to have you near?

I enjoyed the flow of this, and especially your "cheerio".

A clever nod to the circular notion of time, and let us hope, good "cheer".

Enjoyed.

Enjoyed this one very much, especially the ending,
"A month, a year, or sooner than I will disappear;
will you remember when I longed to have you near?"
Such heartache in those words..

Yours truly
