Tossing sticks into the River Styx, again.
Some days, life is Hell.

The forceful rising waters
rush tempestuously over me,
pushing me away from saving seas
of peaceful tranquility,
leaving me adrift with
my own morbid sensibility,
bereft of any spiritual acuity,
dry as a bone, Negev high-noon.

My God, why hast thou forsaken me?

I didn’t originate this mournful plea,
for it was from another’s moment of misery.

But in my darkest hours,
I’ve whispered much the same, in vain.

And it's only when I am nearly drowned,
sinking beyond the reaches of the life-rope of Hope,
that you choose to reply:

"Don’t ask why.

It's just the way
I do things."

seems as though we be talkin' to the same "higher power"

wait . . . I didn't know what Negev was, had to google that, I love to go searching btw
and I understand this more clearly, first thought it was about you.

susieQ i do love you!
thanks, vicky, 'tis so true
~as a side note, I lived in Israel for one year, sat inside a Beduoin tent, worked with Arabs and Jews, as well as volunteers from all over the world
and it breaks my heart to see what is going on
so yes, susieQ, this write isn't about me

basically
they are nobodies
to most of the world
and yet, some of the most beautiful people I've ever met
(never mind about the camels they traded for me, lol)

Vicky, thank you for following this one!
It is so difficult to bring attention to this kind of problem. I sometimes must go a circuitous route
