Leaves Of Autumn
By Paul Wilson

Words spoken on winds of tomorrow
touch leaves of Sycamore falling to ground
No headstone marks your resting place
telltale signs of you nowhere to be found

Smell of sweet Lilac floating on air
tells me you were here beside me again
Gone are those days of laughter we shared
like leaves of Autumn blowing in the wind

Your being surrounds me in its warmth
of love and memories shared thru the years
I feel your presence in the trees the mountains
and the cool chill of night that embrace my tears

Tears of loneliness and happiness shed
are the life blood of my empty soul
The beginning and end of unbroken circle
all that remains of our love I now hold

Thaw of mountain stream carries your ashes back to me
from where I set you free that Autumn day
My heart is still stained from tears I cried
since you passed away…but I’m okay

Another year of loneliness has come and gone
as leaves of Autumn began their decent again
Tomorrow I’ll walk path of memories
touching leaves of Autumn blowing in the wind

Paul~
I've been raking some of these memoried leaves myself ... this is so tenderly beautiful as to caress my cheek with a tear~
I don't mind the tears when they fall for remembering someone I loved ... thank you for this~

Paul, you have expressed a great amount of
feelings for someone very dear to you..  Our
losses are often painful,  this is no
exception.

Paul, that is one of the most
embracingly beautiful poems
of loving remembrance that
I have ever read.

Treasure Chest

All of my loved ones know
that once I return Home,
they will experience the
"smell of sweet Lilac
floating on air." whenever
I come around them.

Angel hugs and blessings,

Martie...Somehow I knew this poem would be warmly accepted by you. I was thinking about you and Michelle a little while writing it. I havn't suffered this type of loss myself but just dwell on the day I might, perhaps to much.

Thank you so much for your tender words and for being one of the great poets that inspire me here at Passions...Paul
