Not Going Anywhere

I'm really lost tonight
I'm naked in the snowstorm,
looking for a light
the night sinks its teeth in me
and the river I bleed
will be the river that drowns me

So promise me
you're not going anywhere
just let me sit here and stare
at the face I've loved for so long
please save me from all I've done wrong

It's a grey sky tonight
my heart's warming by the fire,
your face bathed in light
I can't believe you care for me
but I believe you'll never decieve
or ever cause me to grieve

I promise you the same
I'll always stay here, giving love
and giving my heart to tame
You can believe in a thing called me
to never turn my back on you
or leave you sad and blue

Just promise me
you're not going anywhere
please let me sit here and stare
at this face I've longed for all this time
and could you save me from my mind

Working overtime
to find
a little peace of mind
sometimes I'd give it all up
to be crazy in love
but it's not always easy
I swear
but just tell me
you're not going anywhere

You're at the center of night
I'm falling fast towards you,
from this oh so great height
the moon drinks a pint of me
and the smile you smile
is the reason I drive for miles

I'm sending out my heart
pressed a flower in the pages
of my poetry and art
the morning buries its light in me
and the rain I'll weep
will be the rain singing me to sleep

So you can promise me
you're not going anywhere
and let me sit here and stare
at this face I've dedicated in song
let me know where the rhymes go wrong

And I do promise you
I'm not going anywhere
just let me nest in your hair
and see the view from up there
you can let me feel you care

We're good right here
let's not go anywhere
your reflection in the river, dear
is the reason I stop and stare
