*For lovers of Donnie Darko, I've written this not so much to explain the film but more as a mental stretch to see if I could capture the undercurrents of the message.

Why do you wear that man suit?
It doesn't become you
just as the past
doesn't become you
unless you let it.

We live in interesting times
strange dreams
and forebodings
haunt days
and fill nights.

Circles and spirals
are all we have
to change the past
re-write the future.

Rabbits lead the way
to wonderland
down the rabbit hole
with red and blue pill chioces
and everything is changing
especially me.

The future is in flux.
Madmen create reality
and the children are forgotten
until they wear men suits
and live in the dark.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

I don't know the movie - have never heard of it - but movie or no movie, I sure know that I love this poem.  It held me spellbound throughout and I will be re-reading it many times.  I don't follow it all - possibly/probably because I don't know the movie, but it is like an excellent painting or piece of music - one doesn't have to understand it to feel it and enjoy it.  Thank you for sharing it.

Correction - I have to read fast online as it is expensive - reading this offline, I think I do understand it fully.  Beautifully put.

Ah, lady... I'm not familiar with the film... but your words always have something for everyone... I love the multiple ways these lines can be read... Excellent!!
