Windsor winter haze
from across the river blows
the chilly damp wind

~*~*~*~*~

here we are winter
just you and I in the snow
freezing together

~*~*~*~*~

snow sits on cold steps
leading to the cottage door
waits for my return

~*~*~*~*~

hoof prints in the snow
just outside our cottage door
watch as deer come close.

Nancy...it's wonderful to look at that beautiful snow picture and to hear your warm words about it, but I don't think I could live in cold weather like that.

Crested moonglow casts
Its shadow on fresh snowfall
Brush of angel wings

A wonderful, calming piece you have created. I hope you don't mind that I added my three lines to it.

(smiles) Awwwwwwww, I remember ever sooooo often as a boy going to Sprague Lake in Tocky Mountain National Park during the holiday season and hiking and seeing the trails of hooveprints along the paths, dearest friend, yay! (angel holiday hugs) I now live in a climate where we barely ever get snow, but I was with my family at a beach house in central Oregon during the Thanksgiving holiday and we saw some deer from outside the living room window off the balcony ledge, yay! This is pretty, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Nancy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

I loved the first one, but each one progressively more than the previous one, with the one about the hoofprints of the deer wrapping me in the silence of the moment and holding my breath in the anticipation of seeing the deer.  Thank you, enchantress, for an owl who lives in Sunny South Africa and has only been in snow once over 40 years ago!

Tinker you paint a wonderful scene of winter.  That cabin looks so inviting.  Let's watch the deer while we sit by the window drinking hot chocolate.

From one snow bunny to another, I truly appreciated the pristeen beauty of these winter scenes that you so vividly painted with your brush-pen!

A scene from boyhood
Hockey 'til my feet were frozen
Pucks fly in rapture

Rabbit and deer tracks
Shoveling snow 'til back ached
Furnace needs coaling

Cold dawn paper route
Red nose forever running
Where's hot chocolate?

Thanks for stirring memories with your pictures of a beautiful winter with beautiful words.  Hugs Ken

Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light
