To Fill A Bah Humbug Heart

What enchantment this?
A spectacle behind midnight curtains.
Rows of dense cookie-cuttered trees

Oh, how they quiver and sway
Under a freshly sliced white bread moon.
Instantly they all begin to shadow dance
On newly spread blanketed mounds
Of sparkling, freshly made powder-puffs
Winter-dusted in her finest sugar.

Silently boughs bend in reverence
Honoring their frozen earthen floor,
Dusting it ever so gently in whiskery kisses.
Then ... slowly they rise so as not to disturb
Intricate snowflakes busy resting,
As each one reaches out in the hopes of
Tickling even just one evening star.

I hold in a gasp noticing the unnatural hush
As ethereal and almost fairy-like
She begins sifting her snow
Over all things strewn in her path,
Careful not to miss one single branch,
Pathway, railing, or rooftop she spies.

She always waits until all are asleep,
Then on her midnight escapades
She begins to try and erase away
All the sadness and gray in any soul’s life,
Cleansing the night for the morrow.

As another new day dawns in dazzling sun
Endless diamonds sparkle and dazzle,
Trying to fill even the coldest bah humbug heart
With joy, laughter and a new sense of wonder.

For today, in this one moment in time,
At least some sadness, fear, hate or sorrow,
Felt an overwhelming sense of renewal,
Forgiveness, or understanding,
While she can only hope and pray
For peace on earth, and good will toward man.

Let there be peace on earth,
and let it begin with me.

Mysteria~

I liked the imagery of this thought -

'Under a freshly sliced white bread moon'

Moon lover that I am, I would pick that out, wouldn't I ?

Donna, it's funny how just going for a walk or waking up while it is just snowing can lift your spirits up.  I have had many a "skimpy holiday" in my life, and found that if I kept my heart close to nature, it always cheered me up.  Happy Holidays sweetie.

Marge,   I had actually have been saving this one just for you, it is called, "Suede Moon" now that will get your creative juices flowing I bet.  I am afraid I don't know who the artist is, but it sure is a "you" graphic isn't it?  Help yourself!

I am delighted you enjoyed this one Kacy, and as the snow fell the other day all I could think of was your love of Alaska, and I thougth how beautiful it would be to see about now.

Thank you all for reading this - glad it cheered you or warmed your heart today.

This makes someone who's southern to the core want to move northwards. *S* Beautiful!
