There used to be this place,
where you and I would go,
with our minds, our hearts,
our souls,

No one else existed,
the world faded behind us,
as we drew closer together,
just you and I,
nothing else mattered,

I loved when you took me there,
I don't see that in you anymore,
somewhere, it got lost along the
way,

You have become distant, bitter,
cold, pieces of us, have shattered,
distractions, people pulling us apart,
in opposite directions,

So much stuff in between,
stacked, covering the beauty,
that once was, could be?

Time, time was what made us,
yet time, no time, killed us,
our dreams, our hopes,

Slowly we slipped away,
we became strangers,
you promised to never let go,
of my hand,

But your grip eased from the tug,
the pull of life, leaving me hanging,
dangling, alone, with fear,

Its a sad story to write,
how did it come to this?
I used to be your world,
felt loved, special,

Now I am just a burden to you,

Somewhere along the way,
we lost our grip, fell out of love,
we lost eachother.

Isn't it strange how love, which can bring such joy, passion and happiness, can turn and give such sorrow and pain. Strange and heart breaking. Great write.

Hugs...I have found that it is easier to let go if we imagine it from our perspective...
what if we didn't want to be with someone, would we want them to hold on to us...James

This was hard to read. The things that we had and have in our hearts do not go away...circumstances prevent and pause what was and give hope that they would be again...

Funny how life can quietly remove things that mean so much to us. Seemingly gone before we realize.

Without heartbreak, would we ever truly recognize love?
