I can't help but contemplate
if I'm losing my self perspective
I'm trying to hard to
maintain
    my objective

it is a feeling felt
of something being
   amiss...

I don't know..
maybe it's what is referred to
  as emptiness?

Is it a lack, a lust;
a need for
something more

than what my soul
has already
experienced

even though,
I know,
that I truly have been blessed

but yet?
I don't know
just what..

     is this

still,
I feel
that something,
is amiss.....

seek the flame within yourself
and let your soul be cleansed by
the fire of love.  Axel Ekenstierna

I do understand the "disquiet" within of which you speak.  It is not something entirely bad, but it isn't really good either because we need to identify it or name it, so that we can cope with it.

Don't worry too much, gentle one, I'm sure you will find what is needed to fill the spirit.

*hugs*

(big angel hugs) Oh Donna, I know just how you feel; that ever so often we always have periods of comfort, yet there's this little bit of discomfort beneath the surface murmuring that something is missing, and the more we overlook or fail to tend to the need of listening to that voice, it can only grow like an ailment in ourselves! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, I've been there every now and then too but know you are destined to find all your golden heart desires and will find just the answer you yearn for, yay, this is a wonderfully heartfelt poem, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Donna, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

I think most people feel this more than they care to admit....but that then is the escence of humans...of their spirit...we are endlessly seeking things ..and have our heads down looking...searching for "it"....lets make a pact.. we will not search but see what is right in front of us...we lose a vital element by continually looking...see the day and the people encompassed within it...only people with time on their hands do this...the hungry never have this luxury...thank you Donna..thought provoking poem...

And that, Donna, is how I have lived my entire life thus far...like something is amiss...but I am sure that is a story not worth telling...

just wanted you to know that I understand that feeling all too well.

  just enjoy what is.

I felt this way until I met This one person, who totally moved my world, forever changed me, I knew then, the answer, what had been missing...now was before me, too bad I let it get away.

How do we answer that question "Am I missing something or am I stewing over nothing?"  But many, including me, wander a bit in life seeking what's "amiss."
