Dear friends and gentle people
Sit back and hear a tale
About a rider from the dark
Who to this earth did sail

His, was no sailing vessel
To sail amid the seas
He strode across the sands of time
Doing what he pleased

And in the hour of darkness
Before pre-dawn of light
He travelled far unto this star
To teach us of his night

He rode in search of meaning
His soul was on the wane
Across the sands of time he came
To show to us his bane

He came unto dark ages
He prophesied with will
And taught us of his country's way
To gift to us, pure ill

He walked among the pilgrims
Who saw his ship and ran
But left his image on the walls
Once drawn by our cave man

He taught us of pollution
For he'd not learned to care
And did not see the distant
Pall of our future there

He walked among the living
With no life of his own
To seek a deeper meaning
Though black-heart seeds are sown

He'd no consideration
For a world he could not trust
And raped and pillaged all the land
In the name of progress 'must'

In putting down the olden world
He raised himself much higher
Became a god unto the race
When he taught us of fire

He saw that it was very good
The beasts, they gave him praise
but it was insufficient
to hold him here always

So off to find new meaning
He sailed his ship away
Leaving with us a strength of feeling
That he'll come back one day

So hear me gentle people
Good friends who watch and wait
One day soon he will return
And we will know our fate.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown
