I was cleaning out a closet of a house I just rented, when somehow, a small blue book fell to the floor. Curiosity got the best of me and I opened to page one. I felt a tear fill my eye as I began to read each line. "How I would have for just a short time, felt loved. To be held, kissed and cuddled, I'd have felt absolutely spoiled.

But instead, I have lived a life without ever being loved. If only I had dared take a chance things could have been different. If you should find this diary, please don't make the same mistake. Fight and believe in your right to beloved, and give your love completely".

The date on the page was May 16, 1986 and as I turned to the back, I flipped the pages to the last entry and my tears fell so quickly. For, at the bottom of page 61, my heart took in her final sentence written. "My tear drops stain this page for I was never meant to be loved".

I knew nothing of the author, and I don't know why her entries stopped. I was hoping there might be a photo of her inside, but there wasn't one. My tears fell onto my jeans as I sat on the floor, realizing her loneliness. I wondered why everyone overlooked her heart and all her warm feelings.

The world is full of men, of women who have a heart filled with love. Yet I know how difficult it is to find the one we search for in our dreams. As I sat there on the floor, my fingers turned each page as I read even her most intimate thoughts of what she offered a lover. In a little while, I had finished her last sentence and closed the book softly. My heart took in a deep breath for she would of given a man total love.

This woman, who I knew so little of, I came to know so well. I could tell she had would have shared with him, absolute, unconditional love. Her soul, her very essence was felt deep in my heart. She was every man's dream. Anything a man could have whispered to her would have been hers to grant.

Suddenly, another tear drop fell on the book, but not from my eyes, as a soft, gentle hand touched my shoulder and I saw a beautiful ghostly girl. My eyes looked up into the most beautiful green eyes, as I saw her smile. She spoke to me in a shy, gentle whisper, "I wish I had known you a long time ago. I think I would have taken a chance on you for I have looked into your heart. Without your speaking, I can hear everything that is held in your heart".

As her tears fell upon me, we both just gazed into each other's eyes in silence."Life never promised me I would know what love would feel like" she whispered; and I watched with sadness as she she vanished.

I'm with Dennis on this one....this is really good stuff, but probably ought to be in the prose forum....

Look over there, ok? If you agree that's a better place, just ask a moderator and they'll get it swapped for you.

Either way though, keep this up -- wherever it is, it's good reading.
