~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I think we made a pact in Heaven
Before we came to Earth,
That we would be here for each other,
To help each other through the hurt.

I think I knew you times before.
In fact I’m sure of it.
I seem to know each inch of you,
Already know your lips.

Tho’ never touched, I know the feel.
It is a bliss words can’t reveal.
It is the omni and the end of
Where divided souls begin.

Already know the way it feels
To hold you close and breath you in;
Already know the moods of you --
the blues, the pinks, the searching wind.

It is as if we once were one.
When we’re together, it feels like this.
Drinking in past memories,
It is my heart that I most miss.

I know you keep it safe for me
While I wander on incessantly
Learning lessons one by one,
My heart’s already safely home.

I think we made a pact in Heaven
Before we came to Earth,
That we would always be together,
To teach each other love’s truth worth.

Jo - Let me be the first to say that this is beautiful heartfelt poetry!  And, yes, there are tears in my eyes - everything meaningful (and love is meaningful) brings them up.  Hugs, dear Jo!  And damn those pacts in heaven that allow us to taste but not to eat.

I am reminded of a movie where two statutes have one chance to become flesh and blood for a very short time...

and make the most of their love for one another.

I am also taken by the graphic you found...the whole of this is graceful art, Jo...I am afraid I will have to keep this in my library...

Karilea is right on about the graphic!  Your words so ably express what many wonder.  Is our life path and the people in it chosen for us, both good and bad? Is our fate sealed before we come to be?  You raise great questions in this fine piece of writing.  Ken

WOW!  I loved all of this, you are now a painting in my house LOL, seriously!  I sometimes pick poems to put on the back of art, and haven't for a long time.  Thank you for this beauty to add to the collection.

This is lovely, soft and gentle. I agree with damn those pacts but bless them too. Delightful poem. I'm glad I read this.

Jo, this is my favorite of yours and
I'm keeping it too. It does have such a
gentle feel to it. And, sometimes we do
want to through those feelings away, yet
we also want to hang onto them.

thanks for this, Sweetie.
Hugs,
Ethel

Exquisite write!!

The title?  Yep.  'Tis a good one!  I remember my soul mate, an elderly lady who knew me backward and forward.  She was mysteriously there when I needed her the most.  It was if we had known each other before we met.  She has passed away, but I still feel she is quite alive.  And others...  In how many dimensions/times do we live?

   A very soft, lovely poem!

Jo, this is one of your finest moments.
Loved it all, through and through.  Kinda
wish I had thought of some of your lines.

Well done...and BTW...like the pic....

(She's probably wondering why it took me so
long to realize it was there)....sheesh!

that's what makes it art, that each can look and take away something for themselves.

Thank you for sharing

(big angel hugs) Oh Jo, this has made me streaming in tears here because I'm just thankful I can feel what you feel here; that I can be so emotionally drawn to love that I'll do everything in my heart to never take it for granted, and each year that I continue to yearn for her to enter my life my love for her only grows thicker and deeper and I know when I meet her I'm going to cry in joy and never leave her alone and let her go and I feel it's absolute proof in feeling her when she's not even here that we have always been together and made for each other and were never truly separated! (sigh) Awwwwww, I'm sorry if I went on here, dearest friend, I'm just honest about everything I feel, too honest, and just wanted to let you know exactly how much your poem made me feel and how much I love it, I know with all my heart your love will forever be true and golden too, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jo, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
