I sometimes feel I walk alone, Upon my back life's heavy stone, Then I travel to a place, Filled with warmth and special grace. Immediately my spirits leaven, As I enter, poetic heaven. Meandering in fields of blue, ‘Mid thoughts displayed in rainbowed hue Thoughts of sadness, thoughts of joy, Within each ode, the real McCoy, Of displaying what’s within, Each poet’s being, through thick and thin, They tell their tale, they bare their soul, Along life’s paths in odist stroll, Sometimes the poems erudite, Sometimes heavy, sometimes light, But through each poem, one bell rings clear, That there’s a poet who’s sincere, In their desire to show life’s living, Is worthy of a great Thanksgiving.
