Night’s thaw wove a chill,
a sudden gust of air across
the streamer of tears upon
a  brow.

Seeming so innocent in ways
that puzzled, pulled and
pacified...

Yet, though the thaw wove
and the gust blew, and the
puzzling pull pacified...I
lie here, this bed suddenly
devoid of the breath that
I heard countless times.

For his coming brought
the sudden reality of your
loss and I stood there, my
hands chilled without your
own caressing each knuckle,
each soft curvature.

And though you passed quietly,
so starkly suddenly...and the
linger of pain did not mask over
the serenity....I feel hurt beyond
words.

For I never got to tell you goodbye.

(For my neighbor whose husband
passed suddenly this afternoon)

Awww .. how sad dear Magnus.
Heartfelt expression indeed.

I'm so sorry to hear this Barry.
Look up to the stars...whisper 'goodbye'
he will hear you.
Heart hugs my friend.

Thanx ladies,  unfortunately his death was
very sudden....they had just eaten at a local
restaurant and were leaving when he collapsed.  He never awoke from it...

I pray for her that she can rest this evening,
for a bed can certainly be very empty when
two have shared it for many years.

A thoughtful and compassionate gift for a grieving heart.

Lightning strikes, without rain, without thunder...a neighbor reels and falls...

High art is when the heart of the poet
Rises above the sadness
And writes its feelings down.

A hard subject, very well done...
