the shape of the door knob
and how it fits so well into my palm
I'll stand here
with the cold metal
shaking my bones
or
is that my nerves.
I'll let the wood laugh at me
as my hesitance transcends
fear
for this door
is my own.
made of iron
made of words
because I bury myself in words
most of them meaning as much
as the pen used to write them.
would you be uneasy
at the thought of a lie
in form
a form
any form
as long as it's your lie
these words could strangle me.
but
with this door closed
with the cold metal knob
still in my palm
those lies
these lies
are still.

Very interesting and a lot of good imagery.  Maybe you could break through the door though?
