Too awake to be dead too numb to be alive this night wants not for open eyes. The darkness hears the writhing of my soul it seeks to take it regardless. Under numbness’ protective cover trembles inside threaten refuge with abnegation. The seconds check off each tick closer to the healing and warmth of tomorrow’s grace. |
