The next poem I write
Will have a misty mountain
morning somewhere in
Colorado
With a soft pink sunrise

The next poem I write
Will have ten wild horses
Many of them brown and black
Running to keep their freedon
Only stopping to graze

The next poem I write
Will have wide-open spaces
With healthy knee high grass
And little pink flowers
That sway as I dance

The next poem I write
Will have a Man bigger
Than life
With eyes that are older than
Time.

Know yourself before you try to know someone else.

And the next poem you write, I will read.

I loved your beautiful poem, and not just because of the horses, although they were a major drawcard.  I gather from your nom de plume that you are a horse-lover too.  I am a 60-year old one-horse woman whose horse died at the age of 37½ after having been with me for 20½ very blessed years.  I miss him terribly every day and always will.

Owl,
I am very sorry to hear that. I know these feelings all to well. My best roping horse of 14 years died last winters. It got just too cold the old boy to handle any more. I have more horses now but there will never be another horse like he was. I grew up loving horses and they have always had a part of my poetry, along with nature.

God Bless,
Cory
