Waiting in the Shadows
22 August 2005

Searching the eastern horizon
for finger-printed, summer words
washing canvasses
in water-colour light
of madonna and children.

This is lovely Diana.
Very much enjoyed.
Hugs~Nancy

Now - while the leaves still dance on the wind
While the moon and the clouds come spinning
Will you whisper my name again?
Again...and again...

Thanks, Enchantress, glad you liked it, and hugs to you too.

Thanks, Gentle Spirit, for looking it up as a result of my response in your poem, Precious Ache.  Glad you liked it and that you are putting it in your forum library.

Thanks, Magnus.  Giggles and chortles at the "chicken" part - and thanks, Sunshine for pointing out to him that it is children, not chicken.  The madonna is my daughter and the children are my grandchildren.  My daughter left South Africa (where she grew up and I live) for Australia in April 2001.  This year in July, she promised me an email which she hasn't yet made the time to write.  The poem is about me waiting for that email.

Thanks Sunshine.  I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Madonna And Chicken

Sounds like a famous painting, like Monks Fishing.....!

Seriously, I know this is the only place that has a holiday called Thanksgiving, but....this poem would fit right in.
