"Hello?
I want to talk to the owner."

~Me too.~

And so the day goes as the wind blows
another telemarketer into my pathway,
but this time I simply answer sweetly,
"Sorry, I'm just a renter"
He says
"So sorry to bother you m'am"
I say
"No bother"
Oh bother!!!
Talk about Pooh!
I'd like to talk to the owner
of this company that calls me
once a week to offer me
a discounted mortgage loan
so I can make arrangements
to borrow a million or so
on this rented duplex,
if that is enough to buy a small island
somewhere in paradise lost
where the phones don't ring
unless I tell them to?
Turn off the ringer bell you say?
That would be too, too easy!
Besides, I enjoy the challenge
(is that called masochism?)
because some days,
I actually have fun with these calls.
But I might have to post my last week's
hilarious telemarketer reply in a different forum.
Suffice it to say
'twas neither simple nor sweet.
I thought it was the classic cat's meow,
though the caller hissed and hung up
before the melody was finished.
Dang it, and I was only half way through
my mellifluous meandering monologue!

laughing at the two  of you~~

Once I began talking poetry to a telephone sales telemarketer and he was just happy not to have someone hang up on him and he asked me to write a poem for him which I did...was a fun  talk.

I do enjoy your poetry...WHY?  You make me
smile and laugh...  I had to cut myself off
from the standard phone company to get away
from those people....Now we use strictly
cell. phones...

Can't stand tele-marketers.
I know they are just doing their job but why at my dinner time???
I always ask them to take my name off their list.
Thanks for the smiles here Kacy.

I tell them I am busy now, and if they would give me their home phone number, I will call them back..but they never do..

I find this type of sales person annoying, but am never rude...they are just trying to scratch out their living in this world, the same as I am...I know a few of them and it is a job taken because they have few other skills...(at least in their cases)

enjoyed the poem, Kacy....
