I spend a lot of time, dear,
Just laying here at night...
Thinking, maybe dreaming,
Of a thing which seems so right...
Love? What else to call it-
When it will not age, nor die?
And each time I see your picture,
I cannot help but sigh.

You've inspired a lot of drivel,
I guess that's what this is.
A bunch of "O, if only's,
And thoughts of what I missed.
Your commentary thrilled me,
As you wrote time after time...
Your kindness overwhelmed me...
As you read my lines of rhyme.

You were wise enough to realize,
That love could never be...
And gently, maybe with regret,
You turned away from me.
I still tend to take my quill in hand-
Each line my heart does bleed...
It's a bitter consolation...
Knowing you are there to read...

But at least it does provide me,
The thing I'm in need of,
A way to go on pledging...
My deep undying love.
I love you, O, I love you-
The words seem, O, so trite...
Especially when their whispered
With the coming of each night.

Now - while the leaves still dance on the wind
While the moon and the clouds come spinning
Will you whisper my name again?
Again...and again...

Your style is so unique to yourself,  I always
enjoy reading what you have written...

Any man would like to have this poem to share
with a woman...yes, I believe they would.

As I read your eloquently expressed words of love, I saw you not as a gunslinger, but as a slinger of cupid arrows...

Not only did I read your words ~ I felt them.
