Both of us
Wherever we are
Can feel the cold
Even through our coats

It’s not only the wind
But time
That is pushing us down the road

I look out upon the stormy bay
As seagulls gyre in frigid air

They cry farewell
To all we knew  . . .

Gray waves lapping on the shore

This is a keeper John!
Excellent images and thoughts.

Now - while the leaves still dance on the wind
While the moon and the clouds come spinning
Will you whisper my name again?
Again...and again...

This certainly captures the tone of a month that is often downcast in appearance and feel. Nicely done. Bob

A sombre November poem, to be sure. Beautifully written and left me wanting to read more. In fact, I am saving this one to read again.

I was living your words as I read them. Not only were they descriptive visually, they were emotionally descriptive as well.
