All I ever wanted to do
was love you
and give you what
I never had
so that you wouldn't
grow up sad

and alone.....

the way that I had to,

but you;

you take for granted
and hold no fear
while leaving me
here, in tears

and still

I know

that no matter what you do

my precious child,

I will always love you.

live for today,
dream of the future,
and learn eternal truths from the past..

Love ya lady~

Now - while the leaves still dance on the wind
While the moon and the clouds come spinning
Will you whisper my name again?

GentleOne~

When I read of the separations of children and parents ... I am so very saddened ... we once walked in their shoes ... we had to find our own pathway ... we had to attempt to walk it ... no matter what ... and now when the child turning more mature does it ... some seem to draw back ... but the solid, loving parent makes darned sure the child KNOWS ... I will always be here at the end of your circle ... with loving outstretched arms that will always welcome you 'home' ...~

I feel for you, Gentle Spirit.  Your poem reminds me of one of mine, Waiting in the Shadows which I will post today.

(big angel hugs) Oh Donna, though I obviously have never been a parent yet thus can't honestly fully understand how it must feel to lose a loved one, just imagining the grief made me cry reading this, as my little sister Marielle almost died when she was nine when accidentally eating a peanut (she's allergic to peanuts) and I was praying by her bedside in the hospital for days and when God's love came through and healed her, me and my sister have ever since been much closer than ever! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Donna, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

There was an empty place at our Thanksgiving table this year....filled with love, but the place not taken by the one who has always been there. It changes the very nature of the holiday, and of the thanks we give.

Donna...you have no clue just how well I understand this.

our children test us...

we need to always stand strong and show them they can depend on us when they need us..

and they will need us.

In their striving to grow?
They've no way of knowing
just how painful the road
will become...

hugging you...

A poem every parent can relate to. Unconditional love, watching them fall, and than being there in the end!
I felt your love and your pain in this one!
Good job!

Donna, I understand exactly how you feel.  I don't think they ever realize until they have children of their own.  Take comfort in the the fact you're not alone in that there are a bunch of us here at PIP (I know its not the same, but at least there are those who understand).   ....jo
