bay leaves & gizzards Or Revelations In C Minor

So thick,
the red mantra
of Autumn rain, opens
the rose into shadow,
so much of you, stills
the cry of the darkling thrush
I brought down from the gossamer valley
of our only exile in blue slate,

keys scream in C minor
as you set darkness to echoes,
filled with forbearance, our mouths
speak their watery reprieves
in a hush, my first breath was,
always, an open wound,

bay leaves cupped in half a dram of tears

so thick,
the damp earth
is consecrated as they fall
adrift among a burning garland of thorns,

you etch
into their innermost veins,
a few furrowed salts
that will never be found
by the tongue, and yet
even with so much withheld,

within, suet to the inner lining
of the soul’s blue tendons,
as they slide, our bodies
spin in swivels of bone and faith,
burning through a slipknot of bliss,

ignorance, they say, sounds

like this low note, slow tiger streaks
upon the panes, at nightfall, and burn

like a field of poppies
at the glass edge of our exiled pastures.

BabyGirl~
OH MY ...

'So thick,
the red mantra
of Autumn rain, opens
the rose into shadow

You invite me in with the beauty of your thoughts ... (great surprising difference from the title) ...

Then -

'you etch
into their innermost veins,
a few furrowed salts
that will never be found
by the tongue'

You word-court me with a ponder of my own inquisitive wonder ...

THEN -

'ignorance, they say, sounds

like this low note, slow tiger streaks
upon the panes, at nightfall, and burn

like a field of poppies
at the glass edge of our exiled pastures'

-... you word-curtsey so elegantly ... and I am left -ing, while you take another bow~
Bouquets to you~

Dynamic penning, poetess~

whew, girl you left me breathless from the beginning, then this....

within, suet to the inner lining
of the soul’s blue tendons,
as they slide, our bodies
spin in swivels of bone and faith,
burning through a slipknot of bliss,

ignorance, they say, sounds

like this low note, slow tiger streaks
upon the panes, at nightfall, and burn

like a field of poppies
at the glass edge of our exiled pastures.
