Have you seen her?
Newborn
skin and scalp covered in dandelion down
and the promise of spring;
new eyes, blue eyes
view the world with innocence and candour

Have you seen her?
Walking in the summer
bare legs running through the meadow
bare head shining in the sun;
her singing voice, ringing voice
calls out happiness and joy.

Have you seen her
the shadow of autumn on her face
loved too much, too often by her father
and strangers
hidden in the shadows.
Shedding flesh from, bust and bum
to the wallow places, the hollow places
that control her hope and life

Have you seen her?
lying still and serene
winter cold
her coat of baby down covering her skin
hiding her Somalian thinness
eyes shut tight, no more light
the show the path of paradise lost.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Kethry, this is such a shivering write.
It touched both mind and heart, left me shaking my head, in sadness for the innocents.

across the land of dreams. In your heart, I'd always be.

Kethry:
Painfully felt words.  Sometimes it’s not how we begin life or why, or where we end up, but all the in-between.  Beautifully illustrated sadness.

Thank you so much for this write.
God Bless
