I know I'm not what God wants me to be
but sometimes it's hard not to be me
It's hard not to feel these human emotions
even when I did my daily devotions
All of this hatred that I have in my heart
its hard to let it go when you've had it from the start
From your early youth, when ya Dad was drinkin
to all the problems now that get you to thinkin
why bad stuff happens to kind-hearted souls
I've been wonderin this since I was 5 years old
As I've grown I still don't understand
but I guess it all has to do with a bigger plan
Or at least thats what I've always been taught
even though doubt arises with each passing thought
But I still have faith and I try to always pray
even though things get tougher by the day
Even through it all I still look forward to tomorrow
because there is a girl that takes away all of my sorrow

This is my first post and I would like to know what yall think. Thanks for taking time to read this and comment back.

Welcome to Passions!

It is true, we begin learning
some of the harshest truths
at a very early age.

You caught that,
and shared it well!

Write on!

What a great first post - and I am one that can sure identify with your words.

even though things get tougher by the day
There is a reason for it all and it makes us better people in the end.  Through adversities we learn to not perpetuate the cycles that caused pain in our past.  This, hopefully makes this world a better place, and us better people.

Loved this!  A heartfelt first posting and...

Welcome to these blue pages.
Your heartfelt expressions of life's turmoils will be well recognized by many readers. You've had to learn some of life's hardest lessons at an early age.
Welcome to Passions, where you can share these thoughts in writing, which is a great way to release some of the more painful episodes of life while also celebrating those warm happy moments.

Hello! Welcome to your new home away from home! You are now among kindred spirits who share and care. Your debut poem was open,  honest, and very moving.

We are all works in progress, so please, do not be so hard on yourself. You have been through so much in this life ~ and remember! ~ God loves you!

God bless you, Dear Vahustla,
Sending you a warm welcoming hug,
Earth Angel

JLink,
Mysteria doesn't really wear a mask. Welcome to Passions. You'll find a lot of people here with experience at the pain of life. And there are many answers. Most of them don't sound like solutions or even what we want to hear. I wish you peace.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

(does happy dance) Yay! This is an emotionally powerful first post, sweet friend, here, so many of us share these deepest emotions you feel and indeed in my experience I believe it makes great therapy to share these feelings with one another, as this is a community that sympathizes and reaches out to one another as friends and artists alike, yay! I love this, sweet friend, welcome to Passions! I can't wait to read more of your wonderful poetry, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Vahustla, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
