Morning

He sits; gaunt and starving
Tears descend with the pain he feels
Observing the hurt in his lost eyes
He cries out, piecing this still silent air

Why

Religions fight for there rights
Families, struggling with there religious convictions
Leaves this child not knowing what to do or say
Trembling with fright, confused, waiting for there return
Anxiously cries himself to sleep

Night

Daylight dies, darkness slowly creeps alive
Even his shadow has slowly faded away
Lost in his own home
Peering through cracked walls
Hoping for his families return

Explosion

Deafening sounds bombard his home
The silence Shattered
Ears covered he tries to drown out this thunderous blast
Afraid for his life, he cowers in the darkened room
Rocking back and forth staring into a cold black abyss

Orphaned

No one did return
His family lost to this pathetic war
He is left alone
To starve, a death not deserved
The innocent always suffer
For Religion

War

This warfare, which should never be
War the world say no more

Very touching write. Indeed those heartwrenching pictures of children, innocent victims of humanity's ignorance, fanatisms and fatal mistakes, are a constant reminder of how little life is respected and of how urgent it is to CHANGE.
Of how urgent it is to learn to LOVE.
Thank you.
Love,
Margherita

Good write Yogi, you put a face on the forgotten, the overlooked victims of war.

Although the world is full of suffering , it is also full of the over coming of it. Helen Keller
