fall breezes blow softly
much as whispers are spoken
caressing the plains
in a silence unbroken
except for the shimmering
of autumn’s last leaves
a melody soothing
such calmness she weaves
dog days of summer
having fled from the prairie
leaving behind
a land not yet wary
of winter’s iced breath
still unfreed by the arctic
leaving fall’s zephyrs
with whispers cathartic
to sing out her anthems
to sing nature’s hymns
accompanied by rustlings
from forth golden limbs
of oaken cathedrals
in autumnal splendor
fresh quilted covers
ablaze in fall’s render
farewell to summer
its passions now stole
by fall breezes calling
by autumn’s extol

Tim

One day I would love to see Autumn in Kansas.  Your poem is so beautiful!

I love to watch the leaves  as they float down from my many trees...not envying the raking of, though

Well I have to say that your autumn looks nothing like mine!  I just lost another umbrella blowing inside out!

Beautiful Tim.

Beautiful....just as I see it outside my window.
Wel done Tim.
Hugs~Nancy

Now - while the leaves still dance on the wind
While the moon and the clouds come spinning
Will you whisper my name again?
Again...and again...

We are experiencing
a most enjoyable fall,
are we not?

Thank you, Sir.
