In the space between moments

Hi everyone! It has been a while again, but I thought I'd post a spoken word piece that I wrote.

Lightning

A snap of lightning
blasts sharp edges
onto the curvature of the sky
dark as your enigmatic eyes
dripping the ravages of rain
yet reveling in the rapture too.

In the millisecond of illumination
I understand the starkness of you
naked light against midnight hue
soaked skin shivering sins
soul wanting to disappear from view.

Soothed by nothing.

Haunted by the tempest tugging
and all the endless lugging, shrugging off faith
in order to carry the emotional weight.
--it cuts--
the razor shock, your thoughts unlocked,
the flash of truth reveals all you've sought
to be just raindrops, not yet caught.

You beg for the maelstrom to come undone
and dream of saffron sun to warm your skin,
but shadows curl and blackness swirls
and lightning cracks
across the night again.

~*Krista Lee Knutson*~

Let your life lightly dance on the edges of time like dew on the tip of a leaf.

Always a pleasure to read your work, and love to see some saffron sun myself right about now in this rain   Lovely work.
