My tired mind calls to her.
Trembling, every cell resonates her name.
A lifetime without her,
She is drawn to me now
By the gravity of my thoughts.

I search for her desperately
As I slide deeper into confusion.
Love, blending with fear and doubt;
A black-red film covers my world.
Everything I touch is cold.

Water tastes like fear.
Each breath fills my lungs with mouldy air,
Thick with trepidation.
The unforgiving mass of guilt
Lowers itself upon me.

Grey dawns overtake restless nights,
Withered in the killing frost
Of another torturous day.
My heart pounds a weary rhythm
And my soul screams into a void.

Silent and alone…

I can see her now, hovering above me.
Her grey robes flutter in a timeless wind.
Just beyond my reach, she glides.
I catch myself staring upwards,
Watching… waiting.

Awkward glances from others,
Curious to my actions, oblivious to my pain
As thoughts overwhelm me.
My heart – splintering;
My mind – peering over the edge.

She descends.
Staring deeply into my eyes
She takes my head in her hands
And places a gentle kiss upon my lips.
Tears, as from a catalyst, flow

I collapse into her arms; her embrace
Where she will hold me.
Silently, she will listen.
With all the souls of generations past
And the warm compassion of time.

She has given me a voice
That can be heard through the tears
As quiet as a pen stroke…
Her name is sorrow
And she has come to me today.

Now - while the leaves still dance on the wind
While the moon and the clouds come spinning
Will you whisper my name again?
Again...and again...

oh my, but this gave me such a chill, the way a good poignant soulful write can do

Thank you all very much.

A muse takes on many forms, I suppose; each their own emotion.  This one was elusive for a while, but she finally arrived with a vengeance.
I find some are more fragmented and disjointed (like this one).  It really wasn't a comfortable piece to post, especially since I haven't interacted here in quite a while.  But, I had to tell someone.  I figured there was no better place to voice it than to the writers here.

Thanks for listening and taking the time to reply.
