A wind blows me down,
It’s the same wind that blows the colors ‘round
Stripping the summer,
Preparing me for the freezing winter,
Of longer darkness,
Of ravaged trees that stand nude in starkness,
Of ending of times
Best met with a glass of crisp dry white wine;
Then another glass,
For helping the aching moments to pass,
I ache out to in
From working too hard as new thing begin.
As the sun rises
It finds me without any surprises,
A day duty bound,
The church bells toiling their melodic sound,
As more numbs my mind
And time passing gives my face a new line,
By body a new pain,
And my life another challenge to tame.
Refill this wineglass,
For tonight at least it will be the last,
And sleep come take me
Beyond these constraints of reality.

Gloom

"I ache out to in"

good description...

sometimes it's nice to escape from reality...
does the wine  really help?

"The church bells toiling their melodic sound,
As more numbs my mind
And time passing gives my face a new line,
By body a new pain,
And my life another challenge to tame."

The morning sun rises into blue sky
finding in me no more need to hide
from moments drawing lines in my face
everyday leaving one more trace.
The sun shines the light I will embrace.

Tomorrow's a new day!  There is adventure in every day....some days better than others, for sure.  I very much liked this poem, Gloomy Guy.....I could sink in it...but, I won't and I hope you don't either...lol.   ....jo

LOL at serenity's reply... as I imbibe tonight of the red rather than the white

and monsieur gloom?
I love reading you!...no matter the sound of your whine or the color of your wine
