If you do or if you don’t,
~Damned~
and either way it’s OK,
for it will go as it must.

Life.

Slip sliding one day merrily cavorting
capriciously playing life’s melodies
when suddenly the band hits a sour note
~Discord~
but you dance to the tune anyway,
for what else can you do?
Take other options? Are they viable?

I prefer to face forward into a freezing rain,
let the precious refreshing waters of life
pour over me until I am a saturated still-life,
drenched from all that the expansive skies offer
and still, still I beg for more

and you know very well I am willing
to be damned to Hell, or not, as the case may be
and I’ve never cared one way or the other
how it all ends up...
it eventually ends up wherever it must

but I don’t wish to live forever on any planet
where the inhabitants forever sacrifice
all that is beautiful, all that is innocent
all that is...God
Damn, but I am damned if I do or don’t
anyway, so sometimes I simply say
NO! NO! NO! I won’t!
NO! I won’t abide by this or that or the other,
I will not silently slide into your
tidy four-cornered pocketbook version of life.

And I refuse to count your petty cash.

Never let it be said that your aim on the solar plexi of your readers is off.  What a treat to read your thoughts.  Ken

Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light
