Equal Time

And so I smile at the thoughts
that sometimes invade my privacy,
making me want
what I cannot have at the moment.

With dedication an "always"
and interlude dancing a dream away,
the end becomes the beginning
when my colors run together.

I can't change time
to make the minutes last,
but I can make the last
become my first
and hold onto
what lies within, unspoken,
until all differences are mute.

And so I smile my words
and taste my happiness for now,
because I feel timeless
when looking out through the in
of my soul.

M

Very cleverly done dear girl. Fun to read.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

You define the beauty in a cherished moment, even if that's all there is.
