It’s been one of those days.....

the house is too cold
nothing good to watch on tv
and I can’t shake the feeling
that you’re here with me

cause the memories keep playing
in songs only I can hear
and the clock keeps tick tocking
‘oh if only you were near’

these tears just won’t be held back
guess I’m due a good cry
I’d like to say that I don’t miss you
oh but baby that would be a lie

it’s been one of those days
in retrospect subdue
it’s been one of those days
wrapped up in you.....

I love not only this poem of yours, but also the feeling you describe...that lonely ache of love, the one that leaves you pondering in self exploration...the guessing, the ups and downs, and then, the surprise of his appearance, all of a sudden there he is, and that feeling inside of deep spiritual meaning, if only for a second, now that my dear lady, makes it all worthwhile, doesn't it.

Tremendous write

Susan,
You just can't write anything I don't really enjoy from many angles. But mostly your romantic soul keeps breathing life into me. I like that.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Ah SEA, methinks that quite a few of us have had one or two of those "wrapped up" days.
Wonderful write.   hugs, Chris

Well lady, that was a quietly sensual write of lst class calibre.  It suited you to a quilt - yes, it did!  Don't you just love how Hanks draws pictures for us to put words to?  I love that artist and I love your intrepretation of his work.  Bee-ooot-tea-full (psst, I liked the same lines as Jan and Lauren by the way, WIHWT too. so there!

Susan,

Hello friend! So good to see you. Your writing is always beautiful and this one
is no exception. I have missed you. I've
had so much going on in my life, it's crazy.
Will write you soon.

Take care.

You described those feelings perfectly. You expertly created the atmosphere of a mellow, bitter-sweet, reflective day that most of us are sure to have experienced at one time or another. I know I have...

Linda

thank you all very much for your kindness...

Mysteria...I actually write the poem first, then go looking for a picture that will (in my eyes anyway) match what I am saying...sometimes I don't find one, but yes, Hanks has so many that I love....and I owe it to you for showing me to his work~

Jezzika...my little actress....love you kiddo...

Sea you not only have a good "eye" with your poetry but also a good eye for the art to match it then   These two were meant to be woven together and the result was beautiful!

Sea, I really liked this poem even though it had that bluesy feeling about it.  The rhythm lends itself well to music I hear in my head while reading it.   ....jo

(big angel hugs) Oh Susan, this was a very emotional read indeed, and I can relate to this feeling as I have been wrapped up in visions and my fantasies of my dream girl I have yet to meet for years and all my emotions can just go to extremes! (sigh) This is beautifully sad, sweet friend, I forever wish you the greatest happiness of love, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Susan, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

"one of those days" . . .
longing within aloneness makes for beautiful, romantic melancholy...
which you write so well!
