In Your Poetic Mind

that I am indeed lost in the
canvas of this form

so I watched the changes in you
and me
as if I were the souls edge
where sea and tide rise --
where moon greets shifting stars

with the passing crumble of stone/s

who will guide me to the 'rest' in nights
while I drift on some winter storm
awaiting each crystal
to form her beauty

I am as empty

as the rose
that tries to touch the rivers bend
the season of air between
palm and prayer

the press of body
between grain and sand
where silence fills you

so the rain will fall
wet upon your lips

drops of tin and stone

and I will search for the dust of you
in broken glass
&breaking light

to paint color on warmth of flesh
and echo my vacant dreams
to bury the grey of stone

in the amber of my sleep

to remind me how orchids
cry

and I am always
within the shades of you
~~
~~**~~
between echo and dreams
lies the farewell
~~**~~

GIMD thank you

wow...lauren...just wow-
I could never write like this if
I tried...your lines way cool but what
really strikes me is the depth of feeling.
you write more than mere words my friend,
you write your heart, your soul, your
everything. it is indeed an honor to be
able to read something so open, so true,
so just so....everything. few are like you,
you know true people, people who don't put
on airs but are just who they are.

take care & hugs,
amy

Lordy girl... have you found a publisher yet.... your poetry needs to be in print on pages of gold leaf and bound between smoky leather covers. I want to be able to sit on a river bank and read you till I go blind.

Love, evolves ever so slowly, and still we watch for the tides~

You are so graceful in the rise and fall, like a Lioness,
you manage to conquer all and make it look easy, when it's not.

(smiles) Awwwwwww, this is a most beautiful bittersweet reflection, dearest friend, it can indeed be a heartache to see the ghost of a muse of love reflected in shards of glass, as I long to find true first love! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, as always your imagery is mesmerizing, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lauren, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

omg Lauren, shame on me, I almost missed this completely.  It's a good thing I needed my Lady Lauren fix   or I would have missed this completely, and that m'dear would have been a shame.

Damn Lauren, don't know how this one flew by me but you are in my head, saying things I would have loved to say in the past and odd, I just got an easel for Xmas, so this says so much more to me.

These lines, just man, went right to my chest:

and I will search for the dust of you
in broken glass
&breaking light
to paint color on warmth of flesh
and echo my vacant dreams
to bury the grey of stone

in the amber of my sleep

to remind me how orchids
cry

and I am always
