Windsock at an airport:

An orioles nest catches wind atop
A sugar maple staff, now stripped
Of all its color-summer
Green, and autumn orange:

Three crows, seeking clearance
Land-all grasping tarmac branches,
Coughing scratchy rune-like songs
From these as black as vinyl records;

The  years calendar, turns
The crank of an old victrola-
Summers song, is now inaudible...

But the spring, rewound again-sends
Clear aloft a cold November tune
Of rubbing limbs, their creeks,
And moans; the ravens, black as jet
Set wings, the triple murder dives-
And then, like planes that rise on drafts,
Lift... into the early winter sky.

Wonderful write Ford!
Stark images of Autumn's end

Ford

You have a way of drawing your emotional imagery from nature, that is amazing.  I hope that I can learn by reading you.

Ford, hey, how are you?

This read was extravagent with visuals which made me feel every single word...enjoyed the way you made me feel nature in every aspect of it's glory, even in it's lost days, now draining all the sap it possbily can, so summer can hibernate and rest well.

Using the black birds, depicted to me, the writers love for the warmth of summer, yet, also steatches the knowledge of a deeply instilled acceptance of what is, for what must be....

wonderful ride here, terrific write!

And if I might add, a triple crown? *battin' eyelashes*

Nodding here.

I keep telling myself that everything is exactly the way it's supposed to be.

.

I keep telling myself that.

Thank you, poet friends, for reading and your kind replies....

I have always been facinated by the way that corbies fill their spot in the natural world...how inteligent they are, how they survive from day to day,,how beautiful they are...call them crows or ravens whatever, these three seemed special and, what I wrote was what I witnessed, just a picture of what they did in front of me..

(big angel hugs) Yay! Oh Ford, crows are soooooo intelligent indeed and I've always loved crows too because they are one of the best parenting birds to their children, as I learned from the BBC production "The Life of Birds"! (smiles) I think they really are metaphor in flight, and truly have made much of some of the finest poetry tothis day, yay, I love this, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ford, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
