glasses and violets
placed precariously on my counter
balancing each other with their presense
precise,
i wanted to be precise.

11:30,
i was washing carrots in the kitchen
the sun was shining through the window
making designs on my shirt.
the light felt like life
and i just wanted to stand there
till the sun set
and feel the warmth move down my body
making me painfully aware of the body parts
that lacked those comforting rays.

i felt the hairs on my arms
rise and fall
with the placement of the sun on my chest
and in that moment
i knew what it was to breathe
feeling this warmth
move through me
and around me
through the clouds
and the glass of the window
it still reaches me

precise,
i wanted to be precise.

Fascinating. What a wonderful treatment of the simple. I like this. RMW
