a warm breeze, stammered windless gaits
across my face
like some distance traces, come hither
genetic accounts, they were,
those twinkling eyes of curious mixtures
waving knobby kneed suggestions, lazily
gushing out from fountains in my mind

rude old stages, extending to both sides
left, as well as right, plotting every penny
those moments…
dancing with the light…of migrant workers
dark brown eyes in an elusive café of life
recurring dreams & tantalizing stories
some heavy set lumberjack prose, smelling
of whisky…
great numbers of towns, oceans & cites
compelled to wear a path within feelings
while drinking java on a warm country porch

voices…reapplied, smelling of springtime,
some blasting their last farewell horns
blowing against my body, like the wind of a
speeding train…

some like, paranormal activity, turning on
and off by themselves…or perhaps from some
face to face spirit…
penchant for throwing things
around the corridors of my mind
soft exciting flyboy ghosts
long since, remembered like morning glories
in the finished cobwebs of dew

surely smooth oblong amniotic effects
buckling up garden pockets translucent
moving chartreuse hushed chords
a mother’s call…powerful
cool wafer’s of one step at a time
putting meat on the bones

some stories, still today, shedding little light
on unexpected encounters
some oppressive pieces of mysteries
more educational then family secrets
like an embryo, looking toward the future
sitting on the window seat of light & shadow
wondering what birds are singing about
thick warm hands of colored candy wrappers
sweet tastes of their own…bread knife fingerprints

treetops moving in the veins of thinking sound
distant, close, windmills in-between
deliberately hanging out wash
white smooth oscillations of dazzling sunshine
bringing in an urgency to grow up
like an unfolding of nature
time and consciousness leaning on stupendous
clouds…blues, violet, swirling worlds of remembrance
across the lawn of sensations…
and I gaze and gaze at the fireplace of Christmas
my child’s first…bursting pantries of happiness
running barefooted across my mind

and those thoughts, those memories…inseparable chums
that try and tickle you like a shower of golden gods…
the universe of medium exchange, winks a dance of nature
like a proper meal of spring…with white emblems
of fluttering color touching my soul with big smiles
of French words and candles

conscious desire, tidal waves of dreams that came true
historical vignettes, things turning scarier then a lost girl
on a darkened street…

a quest that every child wishes for…tales of long journeys and hardships
eagerly embarking on reason, hope & the deep blue eyes of freedom
sparkling like glistening waves
chuncks of swindling food, asking about heaven
coaxing thoughts off to sleep, feeing raging rivers
and muffled screams

they hold the trembling child close, tied to a dominate sea
like a lovely brave young woman, thoughts turn to destiny
racing back across my life line
where
a warm breeze, stammered windless gaits
across my face
soul and mind

LeeJ - I'm always speechless after reading your poetry but, no, I lie because there is one word that always escapes my lips.  Amazing - yes, that's it - amazing!

"voices…reapplied, smelling of springtime,
some blasting their last farewell horns
blowing against my body, like the wind of a
speeding train…"

I thought that I would not find anything better than these lines, reading down the poem...but I was wrong!

But than you knock me off my chair with this blockbuster...

"surely smooth oblong amniotic effects
buckling up garden pockets translucent
moving chartreuse hushed chords
a mother’s call…powerful
cool wafer’s of one step at a time
putting meat on the bones"

Reading further, I am shell-shocked....but the concussion sure feels good...

over an open window

for my eyes to see the day
