With a Nod To Homer or, Ballad To My Siren Your song does call me as a Siren’s does a sailor, But unlike Odysseus I have not a mast to fasten to, Nor men to bind me; only my own will to contend. My muscles tensed, every sinew strained As I steel myself to keep you away. Stay away, come not near; it is your eyes I fear. Sing not that song I long to hear, Lest I lose my life so dear. Perhaps Calypso is better your like; Your manner of enchanting is nigh to her’s, But you differ in spirit and body; Your charms need no supernatural assistance. And you intend not love but malice. Zaheer~ I wish I could tell you 'why' I liked it ... but, I don't know why I liked it ... I only know that I did~ The cadence ? The repetive verse ? I don't know ... but it must have all worked well together for me~ *Huglets*  ~*Marge*~ ~*No matter what I search for ... |
