Touch Me Softly

Touch me softly with silken words,
That I might sigh sweet sighs.
Feel the beat of mine captive heart,
As our passions stir and rise.

I tremble with thy whisperings,
Of love and rapt devotion.
Never have I sailed such seas,
Of true love’s pure emotion.

The songs of birds are sweeter,
Gold rays of sun more bright.
Moonbeams are more luminous,
More stars stud skies at night.

With thee forever by mine side,
There be no need for tears.
Encircled in thy loving arms,
Gone are the angst and fears.

Faith and hope have now replaced,
All sadness and despair.
Thy zestfulness for life and love,
Be fresher than spring air.

I breathe thy essence into me,
It sparks eternal joy.
I love the strong man that ye be,
And the darling inner boy.

I rise each morn in sunshine,
With a dance in every step.
I embrace each mome of every day,
With vitality and pep.

Mine life be river flowing,
Smoothly to a tranquil sea.
I owe it all to thee, dear love,
For thy love thou bringst to me.

this was such an inspiration to read and all the thee's and thy I could understand real well LOL thats my weakness in words which is old english.. Thanks for this write earth angel, you sure to know how to put a smile on my face like always

Lovely words, Linda. Do you think that love brings out the old English vocabulary? Just wondering because it's something I'm curious about. Anyway, this was a delightful read - thanks.

Olde and Middle English are so expressive and romantic. I am no expert at writing them but my heart certainly is engaged when I am doing so!
