I

and so I turn
to the charred song
of the redwing for solace,

bathe
in Autumn’s shallow rain,
the frayed fabric
at my hem,
sheds its scorched
and papery husk
in tangles

headlong, the wind
is warped by cedar,
clenched in embers,
the amber fossil of Eros
dusts the zinc petals
of a rose poised
between cradle and crux,
the flesh is wed to bone,
as we bide our time, and write
with our fingers in the dust.

II

and so I turn
to the black sumac for shade,
as I bathe in the nude backwaters
of our sordid garden,
a wayward body, a vatic,
a nuance of stillness,
some momentary retreat
I keep drowned
in the sullen husks of silver,
‘neath a sickle moon,
the cicadas wrap
the baling wire of their chirr
around each hour,
I shed alone.

III

and the soul is honey
in our savage garden of hours,
thorns, husks, cloves,
my body devours its exile
from the Autumn garlands
of this ambergris redolence to dream,
a gypsum dream, seamed
to the aftermath
of our mudslides,

and trundled in bundles of myrrh,
my body bathed and cradled
in the radiant, red sumac
idleness of your own.

astounding write, which grasps the eyes into a oneness with all that is...an understanding of sorts, that is not reconded with, but accepted

Marvelous and delightful read!

A totally amazing write. You are a very fine poetess, my dear! Your poem is a full-bodied piece of poetry! ~ rich in visuals, emotion, depth, and meaning.

You just keep on getting better and better! In fact, I do not believe that there is any room left for improvement!

discounting the fact i'm rummaging for a dictionary , your reads, all, are breathtaking-emotional-intellectual adventures.  Please post more!
