I find myself here in a pool of deceit
but deception’s no reason to cry
because even a bird walks on the ground
when it has wings to fly …
and so say the wise who’ve left for awhile
to enjoy the freedom of sky.

I’m merely a bin for the garbage of sin
stored in fat globules and bone
overlaid with crisscrossing veins
and covered with soft fleshy tones …
but I find I have reason to moan
for the weight is as heavy as stone.

This is me, you see, cautioned to be
heavier than the perceived dead
till moonbeams and stardust collide
and earth becomes my deathbed …
but there is no end, it’s forward ahead
because so much is still to be said.

And I’ll speak again of love, my love;
prepare for it now and know it’s a vow
for the truth has a way of rising again
in spite of this life’s disavow …
but if I am like the weakest of bough
I probably won’t have the know-how.

This is me, you see, cautioned to be
a woman preserved in mind
and sealed with heart clarity
to stand worthy of being a bride
somewhere on the other side
when moonbeams and stardust collide!

"because even a bird walks on the ground

How very clever this statement is!  The wedding you refer to is definitely one I  hope I get an invitation for.  That completing.....yes, I hope I'm there.   ....jo

Helen

"And I’ll speak again of love, my love;"

Oh, I sure hope so...when you do, you speak with knowledge and passion!  And, you are beautiful!!

Jo - thanks for the read and, yes, you most certainly will be there because there's a place somewhere in the land of thought reserved long before time.  Hmm?  Sort of like an arranged marriage - you think?

Martie - Ah, yes, beauty - We're all beautiful if the truth were known but who really knows the truth?  Thanks, Martie.

'We are stardust, we are golden'---so look forward to better times.

I enjoyed the strong images in this one.  Well done.
