For only a seat

If i could sit
where her heart lies
standing she did
while sitting

bringing worlds together
for equal
with a lesson
not in school
life's hard learning

difiance brought justice
on a chilly December first
in the year of
nineteen hundred fifty five
declaring her right
she refused

refused to give up
or not to give up
for only a seat is was
like on many buses alike
and her sitting
still stands tall

For the memory of
Rosa Louise McCauley Parks
Feb. 4, 1913 ~ Oct 24, 2005
lives forever in time.

Bernie, an especially moving tribute to a woman whose Light will live on.

The world is a better place for having had her live in it!

God bless!

Salute!...a raised glass to you and she...

A toast! what you say here may endure,
As well as her memory...

Bernie, this is an absolutely gorgeuos write. Thank you for adding your own spirit and thoughts to the memory of this magnificent lady, who has always been one of my all-time-favorite American living icons.
We all owe her more than we can ever gift back.
