Why must the mount stand before me
when I crave not, when hunger desires
not the traverse of cold ragged shards
of life’s pedestal?

I stand perilously, my arms soaring in
the stance of my mind...grasping a wisp
of clouds which bath my face, quenching
my quest.

Might a dream catch me, lowering me
gently, steadily to the earth below?  Would
my hands grasp in fear of terror’s plummet
or rest calming in faithful trust?

Release me, allow my taste to savor the
moment of sheer joy before my fears
awaken the curdle of my voice and nails
scrape the chilled granite spires that rush
past me....laughing hauntingly as my eyes
blur.   And when I wake just at the moment
of my blending....allow me to smile and
tremble slightly in humble peace....

Dear Magnus....if it's just a dream....let me catch you. If it's reality...I'll help you up if you fall.
Interesting write yet again.
Enjoyed. hugs, Chris

"I stand perilously, my arms soaring....."

Sometimes I stop in the middle of one of your poems, and just spend a little time looking at one of your images, before I move on. This was one of 'em!
