where the wild flowers grow

0 posted 2005-10-20 03:48 AM

Tonight,
  I can see my breath,
I am freeing ghosts within me,
they rise with the bitter wind.

I am horrified
by my certainties,
  I divide
like the Earth
split in two, I
wish that I could grow wings
and fly away,
   with this in mind,

   this,
  which I know
     is true...

But..
   I inhale..
dry, parched mouth,
skin asphyxiated,
  eyes mute, I
am without words..

Only the late whispers
that carry on
in hopeless echo,
digging
for complex answers,
in this, I

suffer deeply
for
the tones ring lonely sounds
that reside
inside
your  sweet aroma, I
love to taste the thought of you..

I see the moon
crawling languidly
across the sky,
another night
   silenced
   secluded
dissipating, without reason..

The root of these words
goes so deeply,
my judgement wounds me, and I
am still aware
of the fact
that when I reach to your warm hands
   for comfort,
grief and tears I cannot shed,
they will not be there..

You
are just
   a ghost.

I loved this powerful opening...
it set the tone perfectly for this bittersweet angsty write...
as always your depth of expression is impressive.

Beautiful but so sad.  It is amazing how pain can create such beauty.

As sad as this write was I saw the beauty of your complex mind Meg, this was incredibly determined to make the reader feel for you, for them, for the loss of something tangible and inside.  Beautiful work and I think one of my favorites of yours.

To see real beauty you must look with your heart.

Meg, your poetry never ceases to stir emotions in me that I have conveniently suppressed. You bring them to the fore for re-examination ~ and that is a good thing ~ for then I can release them and set mine own self free!

You are a marvellously gifted writer!

Hugs with love to you and precious Freyja!
